"A trip into the colonias of Mexico gives you the realization as to how good we have it here.  Things we take for granted such as electricity, clean water, plumbing, a roof over our heads are all things that they yearn for there.   Yet they are some of the happiest people I have seen.  They are happy to have what they have no matter how little it is.  They are thankful for what we can give them.  They are thankful for their faith in God.   We give them hope most of all.   I believe hope if what keeps them going.   I see the children and I hope they have an opportunity to get ahead.  To be  successful.  A visit to a safe house reveals stories of some of them trying to cross the border so they can make money for their families.  Some are successful and some are not.  All they ask for is an opportunity.”
