I have worked with Terry and Sky Cross since 1997, but had been interested in the ministry since 1993. The first time I heard about Sky Cross was at a Civil Air Patrol (CAP - auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force) meeting and asked more about his plans. Terry and I flew CAP missions together often and while on those missions, I would ask Terry how things were coming along. I remember the first time I saw Progreso, Mexico as we flew down the Rio Grande river on a CAP mission. Terry mentioned it was a location for the ministry and I felt excitement about how things were developing for Sky Cross.
In 1998 I flew with Terry on a Sky Cross mission to Laredo and had lunch with some missionaries there.... after that I was hooked and I wanted to help as often as I could in the ministry. I always feel refreshed and content when I am able to go with Terry on a Sky Cross mission. It has always been a blessing for me to participate. God is good.

Sometimes in life you are given the privilege to meet someone who exemplifies the ‘best’ of humanity. I had such an opportunity when I met Myrna on a Sky Cross mission trip to Reynosa.
Myrna was born in a very poor area in Mexico with a very debilitating form of Cerebral Palsy. This condition restricts her mobility and makes it hard for her to speak and for people to understand her when she does speak. By the time Myrna was 17, both of her parents had died, leaving her on her own. Myrna’s parents had encouraged her to always do her best and to not let her disability hold her back from enjoying and living the life she was created to live.
When I met Myrna, I met someone filled with the joy of living. She welcomed me graciously into her humble home. She keeps her own home, prepares her own meals and supports herself by selling items she makes or are given to her. Myrna has great faith in God and in her fellow human beings. She looks for and finds the best in those she meets. She is a good neighbor and is active in her church community.
Myrna knows that the food and medical assistance she receives from Sky Cross is an answer to prayer. She believes, as those who work with Sky Cross do, that what we have is a gift from God and it is to be shared. For me, Myrna reminds me of how fortunate I have been throughout my life. I have not had to worry about a place to live, food to eat, heat when it is cold, air conditioning when it is hot, or medical supplies when I cut myself.
Thank you Myrna, it is my pleasure to know you.
